Bapi na Uvat (Tips of Grandmother) is a joint initiative by District Administration and UNICEF aimed to decrease the rate of malnourishment in the district and to spread awareness among the rural women about health and child care. Under this initiation, the elder women of the villages shoulder the responsibility voluntarily to meet the rural women in villages and to give them useful tips on various topics related to child and mother care. These elder women are called Bapi (Grand Mother) As Bapis are among their own neighborhood, rural women confidently follow these tips and take a good care of themselves and their kids is the idea.
